Chelsea Football Club have completed the signing of Barcelona’s striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a permanent deal.
The news was confirmed on the official website of Chelsea on the final day of the summer transfer window on Thursday, September 1st, 2022. According to reports from the club, the Blues paid €14 million for the signing of the striker. He signed a two-year deal with an option to extend until the summer of 2025.
The 33-years-old expressed his delight as it concerns his return back to the Premier League and a reunion with Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.
I am really happy. It’s an honour to be part of this team and I can’t wait to start. I have some unfinished business with the Premier League so it’s good to be back and really exciting
The forward player will not find it difficult to blend in the Premier League during his time at Arsenal. He played 128 Premier League games for the Gunners, he scored 68 goals and 21 assists. He also scored 13 goals in 23 appearances for Barcelona last season, helping them rise from sixth in La Liga when he joined in February to finish as runners-up.
Chelsea supporters will hope that Aubameyang will replicate or surpass the goal-scoring record he had during his time at the Gunners.
